The instructional trail Javorník leads on the slopes of Javorník mountain (1,089 m), about 6 km west of the village Vacov and 12 km northwest of the town Vimperk, in the Protected Landscape Area Šumava.
The trail acquaints visitors with natural, historical, and cultural interests of the region and Javorník upland. Several stops are dedicated to the environmental education.
Access to the trail is possible from the small village Javorník along the road leading to the top of Javorník mountain. The observation tower on the peak offers nice views of the whole South Bohemia.
The point of departure is by the observation tower. The trail offers two possible ways - the first one is about 7.5 km long and the second one is about 11 km long. There are 16 informative boards along the shorter path, and 21 boards along the longer path.
The trail is only for pedestrians and it is marked with green-white signs.
