Churáňov mountain (1,118 m) is a well-known winter holiday resort. It looms over the country 12 kilometres west of the town Vimperk and 7 km south-west of the small town Stachy.

Right below the summit there is a small village with the same name with a lot of recreational facilities. On the top of the mountain there is a weather station.
On the slopes there is a ski-resort with paths for cross-country skiing, some ski-slopes with ski-lifts, a chair-lift and ski jumps.

The instructive trail Churáňov leads around the top of the mountain. It acquaints visitors with interests of this locality.

The road from Stachy leads to the small village Churáňov near the top of the mountain. The red marked path, which leads from the small town Kašperské Hory, joins the blue marked one leading along the Losenice river to the peak of Churáňov mountain (about 21 km). The blue sign runs from Stachy to the top as well (about 10 km).
