Horusický Rybník (Horusice Pond) is the third largest pond in South Bohemia. It lies near the road between the towns Veselí nad Lužnicí and České Budějovice, about 3 km south-west of Veselí nad Lužnicí. Its name comes from the name of the village Horusice, which is located on the northern bank.
The pond was founded by the well-known pond designer Štěpánek Netolický in 1512 on the Bukovský Potok (Bukovsko Stream). Behind the 11 m high and 730 m long revetment there is a water area which is 415 ha large. The pond drains water from the area 50 square km.
The nature reserve Ruda was founded for the protection of the large peat-bog on the south-eastern bank.
