The small town Zliv is situated on the north-western bank of Bezdrev pond about 15 km north-west of the town České Budějovice, 390 m a.s.l.
The first mention of Zliv originates from 1409. The economic growth of the village started at the end of the 19th century, when the factory for the production of fireproof and building ceramic material was founded here. The biggest development came in the second half of the 20th century and the village became an industrial small town.
