The original wooden bridge stood in Týn nad Vltavou over the Vltava river in the Middle Ages, but it was destroyed in flood in spring 1891. The new steel bridge was built one year later in the same place.
The length of the bridge, which is a technical monument in present, is 132.5 m. It leads about 3 m above the water level and about 6 m above the river bed. The bridge is not in the orthogonal position with the river, but it diverges 73°.
It is only used for pedestrians, cars can go across the new bridge, which is located not far from this one and which originates from 1969.
