The fourth largest pond in South Bohemia is situated about 4 km south-west of the small town Lomnice nad Lužnicí about 10 km north-west of the town Třeboň, near the road from Lomnice nad Lužnicí to the town České Budějovice.
Dvořiště is counted among the oldest ponds in South Bohemia - it originates from 1367. Its dam breaks the Miletínský Potok (Miletín Stream) and it is 10 m high and 550 m long. The maximal depth of the pond, which contains about 6.65 million cubic metres of water, is 4.5 m. The area of the pond is 337 ha.
Dvořiště is used for fishing and for recreation.
