Dehtář pond lies on the Dehtářský Potok (Dehtář Stream) about 15 km west of the town České Budějovice. It is one of 10 largest ponds in the Czech Republic.
Its revetment is nearly 10 m high and 234 m long and it holds about 6.5 million cubic metres of water. In the middle of the pond, with the area 246 ha, is a small island, place where ducks are bred.
