The original fortress was a seat of the governor of this area. It was built at the beginning of the 14th century and was destroyed in the first half of the 16th century. A new one was built here, but it was already abandoned in 1620 and then was used as a granary.

The remains of the original fortification with the polygonal bastion from the 16th century have been preserved in the northern and western parts of the fortress.
