The small town Plánice lies about 15 km east of the town Klatovy, 580 m a.s.l.
Plánice is first mentioned in 1188 and it became a town in the 14th century.
The important sight is the St. Blaise's Church. The original Gothic church was reconstructed in the middle of the 18th century under the design of K. I. Dienzenhofer and it became a valuable building of the Baroque architecture. The Early-Baroque mansion from the 17th century stands in the place of the original fortress.
Plánice is a hometown of the famous Czech electrician František Křižík. There is a small museum with exhibitions of his inventions and his life in his house of birth.
