The village Obrataň lies about 20 km west of the town Pelhřimov, 574 m a.s.l.
The valuable sight here is the originally Gothic Church of the Nativity of Virgin Mary. It was founded in the first half of the 14th century and it was reconstructed in the Baroque style in 1876.
Obrataň is the terminal station of the 46 km long narrow-gauge railway from 1906, which leads from the town Jindřichův Hradec through the small town Kamenice nad Lipou to Obrataň.
