Kadov lies about 15 km north-east of the town Horažďovice in the countryside full of ponds, 510 m a.s.l.
The history of the village dates back to the first half of the 14th century.
The originally Gothic St. Wenceslas' Church is the dominant building in Kadov. It was rebuilt into Baroque style in the 18th century. Not far from the church there is the Neo-Gothic tomb of the Lineker family.
The original medieval fortress in the village was reconstructed in the Renaissance style in the second half of the 16th century. At the end of the 18th century it was rebuilt into a granary.
A lot of interesting stone formations can be seen in the surroundings of the village. They are joined with 6 km long instructional trail. One of the most known stones is the logan-stone, which lies on the eastern outskirts of Kadov. Another interesting group of stones is the so-called Čertův Náramek (Devil's Bracelet).
