The small village Drahenice lies about 5 km south of the town Březnice and about 15 km north of the town Blatná, 495 m a.s.l.
The history of the village dates back to the 13th century. Originally the fortress stood in the village. It was rebuilt in the 17th century into the Renaissance chateau by the family of Valdštejn and the chapel was added.
The most important sight of the village is the chateau with an English park. The tower, which towers above the pond, is enclosed with the unique dome.
A few homesteads with the elements in the style of the so-called rural South Bohemian Baroque on facades or on gates can be seen in the village.
