The village is situated about 3 km south-east of the small town Bernartice and about 12 km south-east of the town Milevsko, 441 m a.s.l.
Three fortresses, properties of the family of Kunrát of Bernartice, originally stood in the village and its surroundings in the 14th century.
The well-known sight is the Baroque St. Rosalia's Chapel near the village. Jesuits from Bernartice built it after the plague epidemic in 1682 on the spring of healing water. After the second epidemic in 1713 it became a famous pilgrimage place.
