The former spa above the spring of healing water gave the name to the village Dobrá Voda ("Good Water"). It lies on the eastern outskirts of the town České Budějovice, 445 m a.s.l.
The Church of Our Lady of Sorrow is one of the most significant Baroque sacral buildings in South Bohemia. It was built between 1733 - 1735 under the design of K. I. Dienzenhofer. The V. V. Reiner's frescos in the church dates from the same time. The valuable furnishings are contemporary.
There are nice views of the Českobudějovická Pánev (České Budějovice Basin) and the town from the church.
